Merryfield Academy is a nationally accredited school in Oakland Park (near Ft. Lauderdale) that offers career training programs within the School of Professional Pet Grooming, the School of Allied Health, and the School of Technical Trades. The ideal candidate has a passion for educating, mentoring, and coaching future pet grooming professionals! The primary responsibility is to lead their students to graduation through a positive and exciting classroom environment. Duties & Responsibilities Teach day and/or evening classes Perform an active lesson and lecture, encourage student learning, participation, and engagement Perform effective classroom management and ensure student compliance with school rules and regulations Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures Serve as student success coach for online portion of program Retention rates and student satisfaction Complete other assigned duties, as needed Minimum Qualifications Minimum of two years of experience as a professional pet groomer Highly organized and professional Strong customer service skills Ability to ensure compliance with all governmental regulations Bilingual preferred as classes will be taught in English and Spanish (assisted) Must have a minimum of 2 years field experience Work Schedule (Flexible as an additional faculty will be hired to cover as well) Monday, Wednesday and Friday (Days) 8:30am-2:30pm Monday - Thursday (Evenings) 5:30pm-8:30pm Physical & Precautionary Demands Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
