+ Mileage Reimbursement Love Cats? Turn Your Passion into Meaningful Work. Farley Pet Care is a locally owned, veterinary-led pet care company providing professional in-home pet care throughout St. Petersburg since 2017. We're looking for a dependable, compassionate Cat Care Specialist who genuinely enjoys working with cats and understands that exceptional cat care is about more than filling food bowls and scooping litter boxes. Our Cat Care Specialists take the time to understand each cat's personality, respect their boundaries, provide meaningful companionship and enrichment, and pay attention to changes in their health or behavior. You don't need to be a veterinary professional to join our team, but you do need to take animal care, reliability, punctuality, and the responsibility of entering our clients' homes seriously. About Farley Pet Care Farley Pet Care was founded by Erica McChesney, a Certified Veterinary Technician with more than 20 years of professional animal care experience. We specialize in professional in-home care for cats, small animals, and exotic pets, with a particular focus on senior and special-needs pets. Our approach combines compassionate, individualized care with the knowledge and attention to detail that comes from a veterinary-led team. What You'll Be Doing As a Cat Care Specialist, you'll travel to clients' homes throughout our St. Petersburg service area to provide scheduled cat sitting visits.
Your responsibilities will include:
✔ Feeding and refreshing water ✔ Scooping and maintaining litter boxes ✔ Providing individualized companionship, play, and enrichment ✔ Following detailed care instructions for each cat and household ✔ Observing changes in behavior, appetite, litter box habits, mobility, and overall well-being ✔ Administering routine medications when trained, approved, and assigned ✔ Completing basic pet-related home care tasks ✔ Sending detailed visit reports and photos through Time To Pet ✔ Communicating promptly with the Farley Pet Care team when something doesn't seem right ✔ Traveling reliably between client homes and arriving for scheduled visits on time Some visits will include lots of play and affection. Others may involve patiently earning the trust of a nervous cat, cleaning up a mess, administering medication, or noticing a subtle change in a senior cat's behavior. Every visit is different, but the goal is always the same: provide attentive, compassionate care and give our clients confidence that their cats are in excellent hands. Who We're Looking For You'll probably thrive at Farley Pet Care if you: ✔ Genuinely enjoy cats and appreciate their individual personalities ✔ Are patient with shy, fearful, or cautious cats ✔ Are dependable and take punctuality seriously ✔ Follow detailed instructions carefully and consistently ✔ Work well independently and manage your time effectively ✔ Communicate clearly and professionally ✔ Are comfortable with litter boxes, pet messes, and the less-glamorous parts of animal care ✔ Pay attention to subtle changes in a cat's behavior or well-being ✔ Take pride in doing the job correctly, even when no one is watching Schedule & Availability This is a part-time W-2 position, typically 0-15 hours per week , with opportunities for additional hours as our client base grows. Once visits are assigned, scheduled visit start times are your work schedule. Team members are expected to arrive on time and remain on schedule throughout their route. Compensation & Benefits ✔ Starting at $15.25/hour ✔ 100% of client tips ✔ $0.25/mile reimbursement between client visits ✔ Weekly pay ✔ Holiday premium pay on designated holidays ✔ Paid training and ongoing coaching ✔ Paid Pet First Aid & CPR certification ✔ Employee discounts on Farley Pet Care services ✔ Opportunities for additional hours and responsibilities as the company grows ✅ Minimum Qualifications Applicants must: ✔ Be at least 21 years old ✔ Live in St. Petersburg or the immediate surrounding area ✔ Have reliable personal transportation ✔ Have a valid driver's license and current auto insurance ✔ Have a reliable smartphone with mobile data ✔ Be comfortable working independently in clients' homes ✔ Be physically able to perform the responsibilities of the position ✔ Be willing and able to complete Farley Pet Care's required pre-employment screening process Previous professional pet care, veterinary, shelter, rescue, or cat-care experience is a plus, but not required.
