Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Selected candidate must successfully complete the pre-exposure rabies treatment/vaccination. Cares for and feeds impounded animals. Maintains animal housing according to sanitary standards; aids in the euthanasia of impounded animals; maintains animal inventory. Assists the public with animal adoptions and with the redemption of their lost animals. Drives to transport animals, feed, and supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of six (6) months of experience in the care and handling of animals in a personal/work capacity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: Six (6) months of experience working in a large animal shelter for dogs and cats/livestock, and Florida Animal Protection and Advocacy Association (FAPAA) Euthanasia Technician Certification.
