Job Description

Dog Care Assistant Raining Cats & Dogs Orlando Winter Park, FL Job Details Part-time | Contract From $16 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Companion animal handling Outdoor work experience Attention to detail Ability to follow instructions Full Job Description Dog Care Assistant — Training & Boarding Raining Cats & Dogs Orlando is looking for a reliable, patient, and detail-oriented contractor to assist with dog care, boarding, and training. Responsibilities include cleaning, feeding, administering medication, enrichment, basic handling/ training, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment. You will be trained in dog body language, recognizing polite play, safely separating dogs, positive reinforcement techniques, and training dogs in socialization, manners, and behavior modification. Approximately 15 hours/week | $16/hour | Independent Contractor Additional hours may be available, particularly around holidays. This is a hands-on position in a home-based dog boarding and training environment. The work requires lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, safely managing multiple dogs, standing for most of the shift, reaching into kennels to clean them, and spending time outdoors with the dogs. The yard is shaded and outdoor sessions are generally short, but this can be a hot and sweaty job, especially during Florida's warmer months. Applicants should be comfortable with cleaning, including occasional accidents, messes, and odors. The right person is dependable, punctual, patient, observant, and able to follow detailed routines and instructions. Strong communication, attention to detail, cleanliness, and a willingness to learn are essential. You must be comfortable working independently once trained while also knowing when to ask questions or communicate concerns. Prior professional dog-care experience is preferred, but a strong work ethic, reliability, willingness to learn, and genuine interest in working with dogs are essential. There is plenty of room for growth in both pay and responsibility. For the right person, this position can develop into increased training responsibilities, independent group management, client communication, and eventually a leadership or management role within the business. Reasonable accommodations may be considered where applicable.
