Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care for animals in our facility, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires a love for animals, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Kennel Assistant will assist with various tasks related to animal care and customer service. Responsibilities Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness in the kennel area by cleaning cages, kennels, and common areas. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to owners and vet if needed. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' needs. Assist with giving baths as needed. Skills Experience in dog handling and animal care is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary practices or previous experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is preferred. Familiarity with pet grooming techniques is a plus. Strong customer service skills to effectively interact with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals or moving equipment. Experience in kennel settings or similar environments is advantageous. Proficiency in animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during care activities.
