Dog Kennel Attendant | Animal Care Role with Daily Impact About the Role Cedar Bend Humane Society is seeking a dependable, hardworking Dog Kennel Attendant to help care for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. This is a hands-on, active role that supports the daily care, health, and well-being of the animals in our shelter. Schedule 25-30 hours per week Shifts vary between 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Includes weekends and some holidays Pay Starting at $12 per hour Primary Responsibilities Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining kennels and housing areas Monitor animal health and behavior and report concerns to a supervisor Handle, walk, and care for dogs of all sizes and temperaments Support daily shelter operations, including laundry, dishes, and overall upkeep Assist other departments as needed Qualifications Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift Dependable with strong attendance—reliability is critical in this role Must be available to work weekends and some holidays Able to work independently and as part of a team Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment Reliable transportation Must be 18+ Work Environment Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and cleaning Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions Fast-paced, team-oriented environment Core Expectations Commitment to representing CBHS mission and values professionally Treats animals humanely with respect and compassion, both on and off the job About Cedar Bend Humane Society Cedar Bend Humane Society is an open-admission, full-service animal shelter serving Black Hawk County.
