About Us For over 20 years, The Original Dog Barber in Arlington Heights has been a trusted staple for local pet parents. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, high-quality, and stress-free grooming experience. We are a dedicated, collaborative team looking for skilled groomers to join our busy shop for everyday grooming services. Position Overview We are seeking reliable, passionate, and experienced Dog Groomers for both full-time and part-time roles .
Full-Time:
Tuesdays through Saturdays.
Part-Time:
Flexible scheduling options available (to be discussed during interviewing). In this role, you will handle everyday grooming needs from start to finish, ensuring each dog leaves looking great and feeling comfortable. Key Responsibilities Perform full-service grooming including breed-specific haircuts, standard trims, baths, blow-drying, brushing, nail trims, and ear cleaning. Assess canine coat, skin, and overall health , noting any issues to communicate to owners. Handle dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments with patience, care, and safe handling techniques. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation and equipment. Clean bathing/drying areas daily. Provide excellent customer service , listening to client preferences and building lasting relationships.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
0-2+ years of professional dog grooming experience . We will train you on the job!
Skills:
Proficient in breed-standard cuts, scissor work, and safe handling techniques.
Attributes:
Strong work ethic, reliable punctuality, and a calm demeanor with animals.
Physical Ability:
Able to lift heavy dogs and stand for extended periods.
Tools:
Must provide your own basic grooming tools (clippers, scissors, etc.).
