Overnight Pet Technician Part-time position with competitive wages ($18.50 per hour)
Expectations:
Ensure the well-being and safety of pets in daycare and boarding areas. Supervise and engage in activities with groups of dogs, including walking, agility, and obedience games. Walk dogs on lead to and from play and exercise areas. Monitor and manage canine interactions; resolve conflicts as needed. Administer food, water, and medications, ensuring proper care. Maintain clean and sanitary conditions by following cleaning protocols. Monitor pet health, chart progress, and report any concerns. Communicate effectively with management, co-workers, and clients. Perform facility maintenance tasks, like snow and trash removal. Pet, staff, and guest safety is our number one priority. Handle dogs of all breeds and sizes; be ready for physical activities such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking for extended periods. Comfortable with loud indoor and outdoor environments.
Skills:
Confident in dog handling and reading body language. Excellent troubleshooting, multi-tasking, and organizational skills. Positive attitude, high energy, and professionalism. We seek team players but also appreciate candidates who can comfortably work without direct supervision. No prior professional or volunteer experience with animals is necessary, but every candidate must have a passion for animals and their welfare. Schedule:
Daycare Staff:
This role is designed to be full-time. Staff will need to be available to work Sunday though Saturday from 6am to 7:30pm. Staff will need to be available both weekends and holidays.
Overnight Staff:
This role is designed to be part-time. Staff will need to be available Sunday through Saturday in the evening for the overnight shift (staff can arrive anytime 10pm-2am and shifts will run 2-5 hours long), where they will work independently. Staff will need to be available both weekends and holidays.
