Description:
Lap of Luxury Pet Resort is a cage-free by day, kennel by night environment and has been pampering the pets of Wheaton for almost 14 years now. We are looking for pet care professionals who are passionate about dogs and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. We pride ourselves in giving personalized care, extra attention and having a team that loves the animals as much as their owners do.
Duties Include:
Supervising groups of dogs that includes activities and socialization throughout the day. Monitoring play , body language and social cues in groups of dogs , adapting to control the energy of the group, making any needed adjustments. Ensure a safe and healthy environment by adhering to all our cleaning and sanitation rules. Monitoring dog health and behavior and taking prompt and appropriate actions Responsible for taking daily photos of the animals.
Requirements:
Candidates should possess these qualities: A passion for dogs and animal care. Experience working in a dog day care or pet care field. Understanding and tolerance of animal behavior . Knowledge and experience with basic dog training skills . Comfortable handling of all sizes of dogs of all breeds and occasionally cats or other types of pets. Must have the ability to handle groups of up to 20 dogs at a time. A cheerful and positive attitude focused on teamwork . Ability to work in an environment where you will experience constant standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, etc. for 6+ hours. Ability to perform all cleaning duties such as mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing, etc. to keep up with our cleanliness and sanitation standards. Must be reliable, punctual, and dependable . The ability to communicate appropriately with your team and customers. The capability of learning new skills , taking directions, and applying it independently. Strong attention to detail . Availability to work Weekends & Holidays. High School Diploma or Equivalent GED Job Types Part-Time positions available $16-17 an hour, starting rate dependent upon skill and experience. 6 and 12 hour shifts Benefits Health Benefits Retirement Benefits Paid Time Off Employee Discounts Weekend Bonus Pay Time and a Half for Holidays and OT On Site Training
