Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Kennel Attendant to join our vibrant animal care team! In this energetic role, you will be the frontline caregiver responsible for ensuring the well-being, safety, and happiness of our canine residents. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a clean, safe, and loving environment where pups feel comfortable and cared for. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, providing essential care that supports their health and happiness while engaging with pet owners to deliver exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and monitoring their health status. Handle animals with gentle restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff during grooming or routine checks. Administering medications to animals according to their scheduled needs. Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to maintain hygiene and comfort. Maintain a clean and organized kennel environment by disinfecting cages, bedding, and common areas regularly. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pet's care routines, behavior, and special needs while providing excellent customer service. Assist pet owners with booking boarding, grooming, or daycare reservations. Answering phone calls and answering pet owners questions. Assist pet owners with check in and out procedures using a POS and booking system. Requirements Prior experience in animal handling, kennel work, or pet care is highly preferred. Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures is a strong plus. Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint methods; experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is advantageous. Familiarity with pet grooming, pet sitting, or animal care practices is desirable. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) regularly throughout shifts. Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure high standards of cleanliness and animal safety. Applicants to this position will start at $13 an hour for a 90 day probationary period. After 90 days of work you will be evaluated based on your work and eligible for a raise to $15 an hour as long as work meets standards. Pluses to this position include on-the-job training, free doggy daycare days, and food provided occasionally!
