Job Overview Join our dedicated team as an Overnight Pet Sitter, where your passion for animals and commitment to exceptional care come to life during the quiet hours of the night. In this vital role, you will provide overnight in-home care for pets, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while their families are away. Your energetic and compassionate approach will help create a calm and secure environment for animals of all types, from dogs and cats to more specialized needs like bunnies or hamsters. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in pets' lives through attentive care, gentle handling, and reliable communication with pet owners. Our overnight pet sitting hours are 9pm-5am, 8pm-6am or 7pm-7am depending on our pet owners requests. Duties Provide overnight pet sitting services in clients' homes, ensuring pets are safe, comfortable, and properly cared for throughout the night Administer medication as needed following detailed instructions from pet owners Engage in cat play for fun during overnight stays Monitor animal behavior closely, noting any signs of distress or health concerns, and communicate promptly with pet owners or emergency services when necessary Perform outdoor activities such as dog walking and pet exercise to promote physical activity and mental stimulation Maintain detailed online communication to pet owners of pet activities, feeding schedules, medication administration, and any other pertinent info during your overnight Experience Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with dog & cat handling along with the understanding of animal behavior is preferred Strong customer service skills coupled with excellent client communication to ensure clear updates and reassurance for pet owners Prior pet sitting background demonstrating reliability in caring for multiple animals simultaneously Knowledge of pet care routines including feeding, exercise, grooming, and administering medications enhances your readiness for this role Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience a plus Requirements Must be at least 21 years old Must be available at least 2 nights per week on average. Requests vary! Must be able to pass a national background check Must live within 20 miles of Shelbyville, KY This position offers a dynamic environment where your enthusiasm for animals can truly shine.
