Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing excellent service to both pets and their owners. This role involves working directly with animals in a kennel environment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while maintaining cleanliness and organization within the facility. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets. Clean and maintain kennel areas, ensuring a hygienic environment for all animals. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management. Assist with animal restraint during grooming or medical procedures as needed. Maintain accurate records of pet care activities and customer interactions. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' needs and well-being. Support the team in handling heavy lifting tasks related to animal care supplies and equipment. Complete a daily and weekly cleaning task schedule to ensure the hospital runs efficiently and cleanly. Skills Strong animal handling skills, including knowledge of animal restraint techniques and reading their body language. Familiarity with kennel operations and pet care best practices is a plus. Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting as necessary for the role. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
