Job Description
Perform all grooming tasks:
bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, and ear cleaning according to breed standards and client requests. Provide a calm, safe, and comfortable experience for every pet. Manage scheduling, confirmations, and client communication using company systems. Collect payments, issue receipts, and ensure accurate record-keeping. Maintain the grooming van in excellent condition: clean, organized, and fully stocked. Report any maintenance or equipment issues promptly. Follow all safety and sanitation protocols to prevent injuries or accidents. Communicate professionally with clients and represent the company's values of trust, quality, and care. Build long-term client relationships through consistent, reliable, and professional service. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of professional grooming experience (mobile grooming experience is a plus). Strong grooming skills, including breed-specific cuts and safety handling techniques. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to handle dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments safely. Must be able to work independently, manage time efficiently, and maintain high standards of organization. Must be fluent in English; bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred. Valid Massachusetts driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be at least 25 years old . Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Schedule Full-time position, approximately 50 hours per week (Monday to Friday, with Saturdays as needed). Flexibility required to accommodate client appointments. Compensation Structure Independent Contractor (1099) position. Commission-based pay : First 30 grooms or baths: 50% Groomer / 50% Company 31-35 grooms or baths: 55% Groomer / 45% Company 36+ grooms or baths: 60% Groomer / 40% Company Weekly base guarantee: $1,000 per week for maintaining at least 50 hours of availability. All tips belong entirely to the groomer. Fuel, maintenance, and van-related expenses are fully covered by Doggy Portable, LLC. Additional performance bonuses may be offered based on consistency and client satisfaction.Job Types:
