Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care for animals in a kennel environment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires a love for animals and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets. Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management. Assist with customer service duties, including greeting pet owners and providing updates on their pets' status. Handle animals safely and effectively during grooming or veterinary procedures. Support pet sitting services as needed, ensuring pets receive appropriate attention and care. Participate in training sessions related to animal handling and care best practices. Skills Strong animal handling skills with experience in dog handling preferred. Background in veterinary care or as a veterinary technician is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when managing larger breeds or equipment. Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners and team members. Knowledge of animal care practices, including grooming techniques and basic health monitoring. Experience in kennel environments or similar settings is a plus.
