Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Barn Assistant with a focus on horse care to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of our horses while supporting daily farm operations. Your enthusiasm for animal husbandry, combined with your mechanical skills and outdoor work experience, will contribute to a thriving farm environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with livestock in a lively, outdoor setting. Duties Assist with daily horse care routines, including feeding, watering, grooming, and health monitoring Manage livestock handling tasks safely and efficiently, ensuring animals are comfortable and secure Support the upkeep of stables, paddocks, and pasture areas by cleaning stalls, repairing fencing, and maintaining outdoor facilities Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to move feed bags, hay bales, or livestock supplies Follow strict safety standards in all production activities to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members Daily turnout and turn in of horses Must be willing to work one weekend day and work in inclement weather Experience Proven experience in farm work or agriculture environments with a focus on animal husbandry or livestock management Supervising experience preferred but not required; ability to oversee routine tasks safely and efficiently Knowledge of animal care practices specific to horses and livestock handling techniques Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and outdoor work in various weather conditions Basic math skills for inventory management and record keeping related to farm supplies and animal health Join us if you're passionate about working outdoors in a lively barn setting!
