We provide solo dog walks and one-family-at-a-time pet sitting so every pet receives calm, individualized attention and care. Since 2012, we have built our reputation on compassionate service, reliability, and a deep commitment to the emotional and physical well-being of the animals we care for. The Opportunity This role is designed to stand apart from a traditional pet sitting position. It is ideal for someone who wants a broader pet care role with meaningful responsibility across the full day, including morning and late visits. You will help clients maintain consistent care for their dogs and cats while building the kind of trust and service quality that can grow from part-time into a full-time opportunity. What You'll Do Provide solo dog walks and in-home pet sitting visits for clients throughout the day in Waltham and surrounding service areas including Watertown, Newton, Belmont, parts of Lexington, Weston, and Lincoln. Work an as needed schedule Monday-Friday between 8:00am-10:00am and 4:00pm-6:00pm or 5:00pm-7:00pm, or 6:00pm-8:00pm Care for both dogs and cats, including walks, feeding, playtime, litter box care, waste pickup, medication support when needed, and cleanup of pet-related messes. Travel between client homes, manage visit details through the company's scheduling app, and follow care instructions with precision. Send clear visit updates and photos after each appointment so clients feel informed and confident in the care provided. Represent the company with professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail in every client interaction. What Success Looks Like Within the first few weeks, you are independently completing visits on time with strong attention to detail. Clients consistently receive thoughtful updates, trust your judgment, and feel confident leaving their pets and homes in your care. Dogs receive safe, attentive exercise and companionship, while cats and other pets receive calm, dependable in-home care. You become a reliable team member who can handle a variety of pet care needs across multiple service areas. Over 6-12 months, you build the service quality, route efficiency, and client trust needed to expand into a fuller schedule as business demand grows. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, kind, and genuinely motivated by animal care. This person should enjoy working independently, feel comfortable moving throughout the day between client visits, and take pride in delivering calm, thorough care for both dogs and cats.
Strong candidates will typically bring:
At least 2 years of hands-on animal care experience, whether personal, volunteer, or professional Confidence handling both large and small dogs, as well as cats in clients' homes Strong written and verbal communication skills A smartphone for scheduling, GPS, communication, and visit notes A reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and auto insurance The ability to work outdoors in New England weather and perform the physical demands of pet care Reliability and interest in growing from a part-time role into a fuller long-term opportunity. Compensation and Benefits Starting pay is $17.00 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement, a cell phone stipend, and 100% of tips. Team members are eligible for incremental pay increases as they reach performance and tenure milestones within the company. This is a W-2 employee position, not an independent contractor role. Benefits include paid training, paid sick time, paid time off after 6 months, mileage reimbursement, cell phone stipend, direct deposit, full bonding and liability insurance, and a Simple IRA for employees earning more than $5,000 annually. Additional earning opportunities may be available through extra visits, pet sitting, overnights, or weekends. This role starts part-time and has a path to full-time for the right person.
