An Animal Care Worker or Manager manages animal care and grooming for a retail store that sells pets or for a pet grooming business. May also provide animal care and grooming at a kennel. Works with animals in shelters or rescue organizations. Works primarily with dogs and cats. Assists veterinarians with vaccinations or other procedures; screens people who want to adopt an animal from a shelter and provides information about caring for animals.
Happy Dog is Hiring and looking for reliable, responsible, animal-loving people to join our dog walking and pet care team in Canton, Patterson Park, Fells Point and Harbor East. This is a great fit for someone who genuinely loves dogs and cats, enjoys being active and outside, and is looking for flexible, independent work. Our walkers travel to clients' homes throughout their assigned area to provide walks, potty breaks, feeding, playtime and lots of love while our clients are away or at work. What you'll do: Provide scheduled dog walks and pet care visits in clients' homes Walk dogs safely and confidently in a variety of neighborhoods Provide fresh water, meals and medications when needed Send clients an update and photos after each visit through our scheduling app Follow each pet's individual care instructions Keep clients' homes secure and treat their pets and property with care Communicate with our team if there are any concerns or changes with a pet We're looking for someone who: Truly loves dogs and is comfortable with dogs of different sizes, breeds and personalities Is dependable and takes scheduling seriously Has reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Has a smartphone Is comfortable working independently Is able to walk and be outdoors in different weather conditions Has great communication skills and attention to detail Lives in or near the area they'll be serving Previous professional pet care experience is a plus. We're interested in finding people who are dependable, trustworthy, reliable and genuinely love animals. Schedule Most of our dog walks take place Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with additional opportunities for evening, weekend and pet sitting visits. This position can work well for someone looking for part-time work or for someone interested in building a larger schedule with us.
