DOG BOARDING
EVENING & WEEKEND CARE LEAD
Part-Time | Bethesda | $20/hr + Bonus Opportunities Licks & Leashes Pet Care is looking for a few wonderful, dependable people to help care for our boarding dogs during evenings and weekends . This can be a great fit for a college student or someone looking for consistent supplemental work outside of regular weekday hours. Our boarding isn't a traditional kennel. The dogs stay in a real home. They hang out in the house, play in a large fenced backyard, relax on the couch, get lots of individual attention and affection, and generally make themselves very comfortable. Your job is to make sure they're safe, happy, loved and incredibly well cared for while their families are away. PAY $18/hour during training $20/hour once fully trained and able to handle boarding care independently Bonus opportunities available for exceptional reliability, holiday coverage, and taking on additional responsibilities. There may also be opportunities for additional paid hours through weekday dog walking, daycare and other pet-care services .
SCHEDULE
We're primarily looking for availability during: Weekday evenings Weekends Holidays Hours will vary depending on our boarding schedule, so this is best suited for someone looking for flexible part-time work rather than a guaranteed full-time schedule. Holiday availability is especially valuable since those are some of our busiest times of the year.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Feed meals and follow each dog's individual routine Give medications when needed and instructed Handle potty breaks and plenty of backyard time Play with and spend time with the dogs Give them lots of attention, affection and snuggles Handle evening and bedtime routines Help with weekend morning and daytime care Keep the house, yard and dog areas clean and organized Clean up the inevitable dog messes Pay attention to appetite, behavior, energy and anything that seems unusual Communicate anything important about the dogs in our care Safely transport dogs when needed DRIVING You must be a confident and responsible driver. All applicants must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record . You are welcome to use your own vehicle when appropriate, but you will also be required to drive our company-provided, Suburban-size SUV when needed. You must be comfortable confidently driving and maneuvering a large SUV and safely transporting dogs of different sizes. There may also be opportunities to cross-train in daycare and dog walking, both of which involve driving and transporting dogs.

You don't need a fancy résumé or years of professional animal-care experience. I care much more about finding someone who is: Genuinely comfortable with dogs of all sizes Kind and affectionate with animals Observant and attentive Responsible and trustworthy Able to work independently Good at following detailed instructions Comfortable making sensible decisions when something unexpected happens A good communicator Extremely dependable When someone's away and trusting us with their dog, showing up isn't optional. I'm happy to teach the right person how we do things. What I can't teach is reliability, common sense, good judgment and genuinely caring about the animals you're responsible for.
REQUIREMENTS
18+ Valid driver's license and clean driving record Confident driving a large, Suburban-size SUV Comfortable transporting dogs in a vehicle Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, including large breeds Evening and weekend availability Some holiday availability Able to work independently Able to follow detailed care instructions Dependable and punctual Bethesda, MD
