Job Description

Mary's Pet Squad is looking for reliable, professional Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers to join our squad! The mission of Mary's Pet Squad is to provide every client with a high level of customer service, reliability, professionalism, positivity, and tailored pet and home care. This job comes with great responsibility and is ideal for the worker who is independent, organized, punctual, and can adapt quickly to the needs of each client. We provide our sitters with excellent home/work balance and believe that investing in our employees means you'll give the same care back to our clients! We are looking to fill the following roles :
  • Weekend Dog Walker/Pet Sitter available between 7am-3pm and/or 3pm-10pm
  • Weekday Dog Walker/Pet Sitter available between 8am-3pm Your availability should be consistent each week and you can commit to the position for at least six months.
There is always lots of work on federal holidays, spring break, and over the summer! Typical duties include walking dogs through neighborhoods and parks (in sunshine, rain or snow), letting dogs out in fenced backyards, picking up after pets, feeding pets, offering cuddles and playtime to furry friends, administering medications, bringing in mail/newspaper/packages, plant watering, cleaning pet bowls, taking out trash, securing a client's home, and detailed communication with clients after every visit using our mobile app. New sitters are provided with on the job training as well as virtual education on best practices in the pet care field. Our service area includes the heart of Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and select upper NW D.C. neighborhoods. We also serve a few clients in North Bethesda and Kensington.
Applicants:
  • MUST love and cherish animals and treat them as well as their own pets. Do not apply if this is not you.
  • Have pet sitting experience (taking care of pets that do not belong to you).
  • Can perform dog walks in any type of weather.
  • Will drive between client visits with a reliable, personally insured vehicle.
  • Will work on federal holidays.
  • Will use our mobile app on their cell phone to track their schedule, time, and mileage, and communicate with clients as services are completed.
  • Are eligible to work in the US and must pass a federal background check.
  • Will commit to the position for at least 6 months and have consistent availability to work.

This is an employee position which offers workman's compensation, mileage reimbursement, bonuses for working federal holidays, 100% of client tips, sick leave, optional retirement plan, and time off.
