Job Description

This position entails an average of 20-30 hours per week:
  • Mondays 9:00am to 3:00pm or 3:00pm/4:00pm to 10:00pm
  • Wednesdays 9:00am to 3:00pm or 3:00pm/4:00pm to 10:00pm
  • Thursdays 9:00am to 3:00pm or 3:00pm/4:00pm to 10:00pm
  • Fridays 9:00am to 3:00pm or 3:00pm/4:00pm to 10:00pm
  • Two Saturdays a month 9:00am to 5:00pm
  • Two Sundays a month 9:00am to 4:00pm
  • Two to four "Last Walks" on weekend days per month (approximately 8:00pm to 10:00pm).
Frequency is based on the number of boarding animals we have in residence, and therefore the number of personnel needed to care for them. The Associate will be responsible for walks for boarding dogs, mid-day feeding/medicating of boarding animals in addition to cleaning, allowing volunteers into the facility, front desk coverage, and other responsibilities. Other hours may be available for the Associate during busier boarding times. Boarding animal care includes walking, feeding, medicating, socialization/ playtime, spot and full cleaning of runs, bathing, assisting with nail trimming and ear cleaning for dogs; feeding, medicating, socialization/playtime, cleaning litterpans, spot and full cleaning of condos, assisting with nail trimming, ear cleaning, or waterless shampooing for cats; and feeding, medicating, and full or spot cleaning of other small animals. Other general duties include laundry; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming; taking trash and recycling to respective dumpsters; assisting Groomer if needed; allowing entrance into the facility to specified volunteers outside of open hours; assisting with care of rescue animals, as needed and assigned by Management; and additional duties as needed.'
