Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Weekend Dog Groomer to join our busy, well-established kennel. Our grooming department has a loyal, established weekday clientele, and we need a skilled groomer to help meet the high demand on weekends. Pay based on experience and commision. In this energetic role, you'll provide top-quality grooming services that keep dogs looking and feeling their best. From breed-specific cuts to bathing and nail trimming, you'll ensure every pet leaves happy, healthy, and beautifully groomed. This paid position offers a dynamic environment where your skills in animal handling and customer service come together to create a positive experience for pets and their owners alike. Duties Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, and styling tailored to each dog's breed and individual needs Handle dogs safely using animal restraint techniques and gentle handling skills to ensure comfort and trust during grooming sessions Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and other pet care routines with precision and care Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions Maintain a clean, organized grooming station by sanitizing tools and work areas regularly Assist with pet handling during check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a smooth experience for clients Skills Proven experience in pet grooming, including pet coat styling and pet nail trimming Strong dog handling skills with the ability to manage animals of various temperaments safely Knowledge of veterinary procedures or veterinary technician/assistant experience is a plus for understanding health considerations during grooming Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and animal handling best practices Excellent communication skills to engage with pet owners confidently and professionally Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with larger animals Join us to turn your love for animals into a rewarding career where every day brings new furry friends to pamper!
