This role requires strong technical skills, a calm and confident approach to animal handling, and a commitment to creating a safe, positive experience for both pets and their parents. Groomers are responsible for delivering high-quality grooming services including baths, haircuts, nail trims, de-shedding, and other spa treatments. Your day-to-day will include hands-on grooming, client communication, and working both independently and as part of a dynamic retail and grooming team.
Responsibilities include:
Performing breed-specific cuts, de-shedding, bathing, nail trims, and other grooming services Collaborating with team members and communicating clearly with pet parents Identifying potential health concerns and ensuring each pet's comfort and safety Recommending add-on services and booking appointments Safely handle pets of all sizes, breeds, temperaments, and coat types Identify and report signs of skin issues, parasites, or other health concerns Communicate clearly with pet parents about their grooming preferences and expectations Maintain a clean and organized grooming workstation Adhere to safety standards and grooming protocols Provide consistent availability for scheduling and honor committed hours Complete grooming appointments efficiently and on time Preferred candidates: Minimum of 2 years of professional grooming experience Proficient in all aspects of grooming with confidence handling pets of all sizes and temperaments Provide your own grooming tools and equipment Have a team-first attitude and a commitment to service excellence Bonus points if you can groom other pets like cats and rabbits This is a W-2 position with a starting commission of 40% plus tips, as well as the following benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance (full-time employees only) Paid time off 401(k) with employer match Flexible scheduling Discounted pet care services and pet retail products Paid training in pet first aid and dog behavior
