An Animal Care Worker or Manager manages animal care and grooming for a retail store that sells pets or for a pet grooming business. May also provide animal care and grooming at a kennel. Works with animals in shelters or rescue organizations. Works primarily with dogs and cats. Assists veterinarians with vaccinations or other procedures; screens people who want to adopt an animal from a shelter and provides information about caring for animals.

Job Description

Job Purpose:
Serves customer by providing care for their dog(s) by assuring a clean and safe environment is maintained for the dogs. Experience highly recommended, but not mandatory. Must love dogs! A very busy luxurious daycare and boarding facility.
Duties:
Multi-tasker is a benefit Fast paced business Lots of responsibility Room for advancement Monitoring and observing group play both indoors and outdoors. Assist in managing escalated behavioral issues between dogs. Feed meals. Bathing dogs. Picking up and disposing of dog excrement. Mopping. Sweeping. Vacuuming. Cleaning outdoors (using hoses, sprayers, cleaning agents, rake). Wiping down dogs. Moving dogs throughout facility using kennel leads. Taking pictures. Leash and unleash dogs. Walk dogs to specified areas.
Skills:
Physical Labor. Must be able to learn multiple dogs' names - perhaps 100+ in any given day. Be able to follow instructions (reading, writing, verbal). Be able to communicate observations to senior staff. Have the stamina to be on feet for up to 8 hours per day. Breaks are given throughout the day.
Personal:
Honest. Trustworthy. Good attendance.

Please see www.ditw.net and reference "About" tab. We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Shifts can start as early as 6:00am (mostly 6:15am) and some shifts end at 10:30pm. Most shifts are 8 hours long. You are not expected to work every weekend or every holiday, but you will be expected to work on these days - assume half.
