We are currently seeking to hire Animal Care Assistants for our no-kill shelter in Detroit. We are looking for reliable, committed people (18 years or older) who will be dedicated to the health and the well-being of the dogs in our care.

Animal Care Assistants Positions Available:

• Full Time and Part Time positions available
• 6 am to 1 pm, or 12 pm to 7 pm
• Volunteer
• flexible 3 hour shifts (3 month commitment)

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning kennels, washing and sanitizing equipment, including food bowls, toys, laundry etc.
• Ensuring the health and wellbeing of the dogs (i.e. feeding, walking, active play, and monitoring the dogs)
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the indoor and outdoor spaces (power washing, sweeping, mopping, and yard clean up)
• Organizing donations such as food, bedding, cleaning supplies, toys

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience handling dogs is preferred but not necessary
• Must be willing to learn and take direction
• 18 years or older; mature, responsible
• Physical strength and stamina to complete duties listed above
• Flexible schedule; willing to work holidays and weekends

Make A Difference Rescue (MADR) is a 501c3 non-profit, no kill, canine rescue. Although we strive to have all our dogs in foster homes, we have a no-kill shelter (licensed by the state of Michigan) in Detroit where we temporarily house homeless dogs until they find their forever families.
