About us Cloud 9 Canine Pet Care & Dog Training LLC is a small, women-owned and operated business in Kalamazoo, MI. As our business grows, we will be hiring a "cohort" of 1-3 staff per quarter. Our work environment includes : BOTH traveling from residence to residence throughout Kalamazoo and in-facility based 'day camp' services. Extensive training process (6 months, though independence will start quickly) Independence (working completely alone, most of the time - required) AND collaborating with a co-worker to run groups (day camp only - required) Mileage reimbursement & tips Participation in lifelong, intensive services for dogs of various behavior needs to support their quality of life Pet sitting dogs primarily and some cats, small animals, and reptiles Learning how to document, take data, and get creative with enrichment plans of dogs in our multi-modal service model. Ideal candidates for this position possess the following qualities: Passion for working with pets, primarily but not exclusively dogs and cats, including pets with a wide range of behaviors, personalities, and care needs. Reliability to get the job done: we provide essential services to living creatures and are responsible for maintaining a 100% attendance rate to services. Thrives in a fast-paced work environment where each day will look different. Ability to problem-solve and manage stress while working independently without direct supervision. Commitment to a growth mindset in order to advance knowledge and skills for providing safe, quality service through successful completion of our educational new hire training program.
Enjoy driving:
this position entails a considerable amount of time on the road within our service area in all weather conditions. Desire to work outdoors, including in hot, cold, rainy, or snowy weather. Strong communication skills in order to provide detailed, high quality written reports and photographs to clients after each service. Customer service skills to earn clients' trust and satisfaction. Comfort working in other people's homes: all pet care services are provided in-home. Shared value of the Cloud 9 Canine mission statement. Evidence of time management skills to adhere to protocol and policies while providing services independently to ensure safety, well-being, and comfort of pets. Availability during peak service demand, which varies—flexible availability for scheduling desired. Confident commitment to 12 months of employment (minimum) due to the investment of training new team members and the benefit of consistent, routine care for pets receiving care services.
