Job Description

Overview We are seeking a honest, reliable, dedicated and passionate Pet Sitter/Dog Walker to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals who love animals and enjoy spending time outdoors. As a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care for all our client's pets, while ensuring their safety and well-being during walks and sittings. Your primary focus will be to create a positive experience for both the pets and their owners. You will be working as an independent contractor. Responsibilities Walk dogs of various sizes and breeds, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and socialization. Monitor the behavior and health of pets during walks, and sittings, reporting any concerns to pet owners. Maintain control of pets at all times, using appropriate handling techniques. Clean up after dogs during walks to maintain a clean environment. Provide food, water, cleaning of litter boxes Administer medications, if necessary, including injections. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pet's needs and any observations made during walks/sittings. Ensure all necessary equipment (leashes, harnesses) is in good condition before each walk. Requirements Willingness to travel to pet sittings/dog walks, within a 20 mile radius of Rochester, MI Experience in animal handling or pet care is preferred. Knowledge of dog behavior and training techniques is a plus. Previous experience in roles such as veterinary technician, kennel assistant, or pet grooming is beneficial. Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners effectively. Ability to manage multiple dogs safely during walks. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
