Job Description

Mutterly Love, established in 2009 in St. Joseph, Michigan, is a year-round boarding, daycare, grooming, and training facility. Our staff manages playroom behavior, feeding, medications, cleaning, and identification of cages and pets to maintain high standards.
Duties:
Bathing and Cleaning:
Wet, shampoo, condition, and thoroughly rinse pets using appropriate, high-quality products suited to their specific skin and coat types.
Drying and Brushing:
Towel-dry and blow-dry coats using professional dryers, then brush and comb out loose fur or minor tangles.
Basic Hygiene Tasks:
Trim or file nails, clean ears gently, and perform basic sanitary or paw pad trims when requested.
Health and Safety Checks:
Inspect pets for external parasites (fleas and ticks), skin irregularities, lumps, or signs of infection, and report findings to the pet owner or lead groomer.
Client Communication:
Greet pet owners, discuss their pet's specific needs during drop-off, and provide updates on behavior or coat condition at pick-up.
Facility Maintenance:
Clean and disinfect bathing tubs, cages, tables, and tools after each use, and sweep or vacuum the salon area regularly.
Team Support:
Assist lead groomers with lifting, handling, or prepping pets to keep the daily schedule running smoothly as well as animal admissions and discharges.
Requirements:
Minimum age 18 years. Genuine interest in working with animals. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. Capable of frequent bending, standing, stooping, and walking during shifts. Willingness to work in all weather conditions. Driver's license and personal vehicle required. Available most weekends and holidays. Able to manage physical and emotional stress in a busy, noisy environment.
