Location:
HART- 15494
Dellwood Drive Brainerd, MN 56401
Schedule:
Part-time/rotating weekends/some holidays. This includes Sunday & Mondays 8am-2pm, Tuesday-Saturday 8am-4pm.
Pay:
Starting pay $13.25/hour with a 90-day performance review and potential for a pay increase at that time. Then cost of living raises yearly. About the
Role:
Must be 18 years or older to apply for insurance purposes. We are looking for a compassionate, dependable Kennel Assistant to help care for animals in our shelter. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and incredibly rewarding for someone who loves animals and wants to make a difference every day.
Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize kennels, dishes and animal areas Feed and provide fresh water to animals according to schedules and protocols Assist with animal handling, walking, and enrichment Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting concerns to management Support daily shelter operations and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment Interact kindly with volunteers, staff and public
Qualifications:
Love for animals and commitment to their care and wellbeing Ability to perform physical tasks (standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds) Comfortable working around animals of all sized and temperaments Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Willingness to learn (animal care experience is a plus, but not required) What we offer: Meaningful work that directly helps animals in need Supportive team environment Training provided Discounts on adoption fees Flexible scheduling Uniform allowance
