Shelter Care Attendant Pope County Humane Society | Glenwood, MN Pope County Humane Society is looking for a dependable, compassionate Shelter Care Attendant to join our team. This is an active, hands-on position caring for shelter animals and helping keep our facility safe, clean, organized, and welcoming for animals and the people who care about them. Schedule We are looking for flexible availability, including:

Weekdays:

3:00-8:00

PM Weekends:

7:00 AM-3:00 PM or 3:00-8:00 PM What You'll Do Provide daily care, feeding, exercise, enrichment, and socialization for dogs and cats Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, runs, and common areas Monitor animals for changes in health or behavior and communicate concerns to management Safely handle animals of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments Assist with animal intake, adoptions, medications, and animal handling as directed Maintain accurate animal records and daily care information Help with laundry, dishes, supplies, donations, and general shelter upkeep Provide friendly, professional customer service to adopters, visitors, volunteers, and donors Work as part of a team and assist with shelter events and community programs Learn and follow shelter procedures, safety protocols, and animal care standards What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Reliable, responsible, and willing to follow through Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Compassionate and respectful toward animals and people Able to stay calm in a busy, sometimes unpredictable environment Detail-oriented and willing to learn Comfortable with physical work, cleaning, lifting, and working around animals Previous experience in animal shelters, veterinary clinics, kennels, farms, pet care, or customer service is helpful but not required . We are willing to train the right person who brings reliability, a strong work ethic, compassion, and a willingness to learn. Physical Requirements This is an active position that requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, cleaning, lifting up to approximately 40 pounds, and safely handling animals of various sizes. Work takes place both indoors and outdoors and includes exposure to animal noise, odors, waste, cleaning products, and the normal hazards associated with animal care. Pay:
