This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, develop your skills in pet handling, and animal behavior management, all while contributing to a caring community dedicated to animal welfare. Responsibilities Provide attentive pet care by feeding, administering medication, and ensuring daily needs are met with compassion and professionalism Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills to prevent injury or stress Maintain cleanliness of pet boarding areas and kennels through thorough sanitization and facility sanitization practices Support pet training activities including dog training exercises to promote good behavior and socialization Monitor animal behavior closely, recognizing signs of distress or illness and communicating concerns promptly to supervisors Engage in outdoor work activities such as walking dogs, cleaning outdoor enclosures, and supervising playtime to promote physical activity and mental stimulation Skills Knowledge of animal behavior and training techniques enhances your ability to care effectively for diverse pets Strong animal handling skills including dog handling, animal restraint, and kennel experience ensure safety for both pets and staff Customer service skills are essential for communicating effectively with pet owners and providing reassurance about their pets' care Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during tasks like moving supplies or assisting with large animals or equipment (team lifting preferred) Experience with pet grooming, sanitation practices, and outdoor work contributes to maintaining a clean, safe environment for all animals Requirements Must have weekend and holiday availability Must be passionate about pet care Join us in making a difference in the lives of pets every day!
