$15.25/hour Position Summary Grant's Farm is looking for an Animal Care Seasonal that will primarily be responsible for the care and maintenance of large animal collection such as deer, elk, bison, cattle, and llamas. A successful person in this role will also follow protocols for routine feeding, medical care, documenting animal care, interacting and educating guests about large animals, maintaining and operating farm equipment, and working with the animal team as needed. Essential Job Duties Record keeping of information pertinent to herd feedings, medical issues, and general maintenance. Daily cleaning and maintenance of the animal enclosures, barns, and pastures. Observing animals for illness, injury, or changes in behavior. Learning proper maintenance of equipment, fencing, and tools to ensure the safest facilities for the animals. Operating farm equipment and tools safely and in accordance with proper protocols. Assisting Large Animal Care Team with infant care, tagging, and identifying. Following guidelines on the safe handling of animals, quarantine procedures, and restraint techniques. Assisting the Large Animal Care Team with animal vaccinations and administration of medications as prescribed by the program veterinarian. Educating guests about large animals for events Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Good written and oral communication skills. Must be self-motivated and able to multitask. Basic computer skills - MS office, data entry Strong sense of personal integrity. Attention to detail. Team spirit and problem-solving abilities. Flexibility and adaptability Desire to learn Physical Demands & Work Environment Must be able to lift or carry 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to walk distances over uneven terrain. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, weekends, evenings and holidays.
