Animal Programs Team Member Grant's Farm - 3.8 St. Louis, MO Job Details Part-time 4 hours ago Benefits 401(k) Qualifications Outdoor work experience Full Job Description Grant's Farm is looking for Animal Care Staff that will primarily be responsible for the care and maintenance of small companion and exotic animals as well as interacting with guests via tours, shows and events. The successful person in this role will also follow protocols for routine feeding, medical care, documenting animal care, performing shows, tours, interacting, and educating guests about companion and exotic animals while working with the animal team. Essential Job Duties Recording information pertinent to small animals' medical and behavior issues. Daily cleaning and maintenance of the animal enclosures, barns, and stage. Observing animals for illness, injury, or changes in behavior. Educating guests animal information. Assisting and performing daily shows, guest interactions and tours. Following guidelines on the safe handling of small animals and department policies. Recognize animal behavior breakdown and how to correct them.
Maintaining department:
grass cutting, building projects and any other small maintenance that is needed. Properly communicate animal and team members needs to the supervisor and leads. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Good written and oral communication skills. Must be self-motivated and able to multitask. Strong sense of personal integrity. Attention to detail. Team spirit and problem-solving abilities. Flexible, adaptable, and dependable. Desire to learn and can take direction. Understanding basic animal training. Strong public speaking skills. Physical Demands & Work Environment Must be able to lift or carry 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to walk distances over uneven terrain. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
