Job Summary Join our dedicated team as an Animal Rescue Caretaker and make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable animals. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate care, ensure their safety, and support their journey toward recovery and adoption. Your energetic approach will help create a nurturing environment where animals feel safe, loved, and cared for every day. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and equines, while contributing to animal welfare initiatives. Responsibilities Provide daily care for rescued animals, including feeding, grooming, cleaning enclosures , and administering medications as directed. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and ensure their comfort during veterinary procedures or assessments. Support animal husbandry practices by monitoring health status, recording vital signs, and maintaining detailed records of treatments and behaviors. Communicate effectively with team members about animal needs, behaviors, and care plans to promote transparency and trust. Maintain a clean and safe environment by regularly disinfecting kennels, treatment areas, and common spaces. Contribute to behavioral assessments by observing animal behavior patterns and assisting in socialization activities to improve adoptability. Experience Previous kennel experience or hands-on animal handling skills are highly desirable. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, aseptic techniques, and animal restraint methods is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to handle dogs and other animals confidently while ensuring safety for both animals and staff. Strong organizational skills with experience in record keeping related to animal health and behavior are important. Passion for animal welfare combined with excellent communication skills to engage with team members and pet owners effectively. Pay:
From $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 30.0 per week
