Job Description

Job Description - Dog Bather The Dog Spa of St. Peters is looking for a responsible and reliable person to fill a part-time (potentially leading to full time) 'Dog Bather' position! A great entry-level step into the world of pet-related careers! Must have an interest in the health and well-being of animals and must have some prior experience washing dogs. We accept experience ranging from simply washing your pet(s) at home all the way to lots of prior bathing experience as an aspiring groomer in need of part-time work. Regardless of your experience level, a couple weeks of operational training will be included.
Qualifications include:
Ability to pass both a background check and a drug test. Ability to stand/walk for extended amounts of time. Ability to walk dogs safely on leashes. Ability to safely cage dogs. Comfortable working around wet dogs, dog hair, and dander. Ability to lift up to 40lbs on a regular basis, and up to 50lbs occasionally. Ability to work with a team. A clean-as-you-go attitude is a plus. A passion for animals, and minimal experience required.
Responsibilities include:
Use of best practices and/or vet's orders to ensure the skin/coat of each canine customer is kept clean and healthy. Bathe, brush teeth, external anal expression, dry, and brush dogs as needed or assigned/required. Maintaining a calm demeanor to reduce the dogs' stress levels and provide a more positive overall grooming experience. Washing and drying towels and other textiles used. General cleanup duties including tubs, sweeping/vacuuming, and mopping floors. General restocking/daily prep duties such as conditioner/shampoo refills. Other general duties as assigned.
Work schedule:
Business hours are currently from 8:30am-3pm Tuesday-Saturday and working schedules surrounding those hours will depend on anticipated volume. Flexible schedule. Performance bonuses are another benefit.

$15.50 per hour
