Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking Kennel Technician to join our veterinary hospital team. The Kennel Technician is responsible for providing excellent daily care to hospitalized, boarding, and daycare animals while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment. This position works closely with the veterinary and support staff to ensure the health, comfort, and well-being of every patient and pet in our care.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, compassionate care to dogs, cats, and other animals in our facility Feed and provide fresh water according to individual instructions Walk, exercise, and provide appropriate enrichment for animals Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, cages, and common areas Monitor animals for changes in behavior, appetite, elimination, or overall condition and report concerns to appropriate staff Assist with patient handling and restraint as directed Safely administer basic medications when trained and authorized to do so Assist veterinary staff with patient care and general hospital duties Maintain accurate records and follow feeding, medication, and care instructions Maintain proper sanitation and infection-control standards Handle animals safely and appropriately, including animals that may be fearful, anxious, or difficult to handle Assist with laundry, dishes, stocking, trash removal, and other general hospital duties Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment Communicate respectfully and professionally with coworkers and clients Follow hospital policies, safety procedures, and animal-care protocols Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous animal-care, kennel, veterinary, boarding, grooming, or similar experience preferred but not required Must be comfortable working with dogs and cats of varying sizes, temperaments, and medical needs Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, clean, and perform physically demanding tasks Must be willing to work around animal waste, bodily fluids, cleaning products, and unpleasant odors A compassionate attitude toward animals and a willingness to learn are essential
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is dependable, attentive, hardworking, and genuinely enjoys caring for animals. We are looking for someone who takes pride in keeping a clean environment, notices when something is not right with a patient, follows through on assigned responsibilities, and works well with the entire hospital team. This is going to be a part time position, working every other weekend shifts.
Pay:
From $10.00 per hour Expected hours: 19.0 - 30.0 per week
