Montana Tails is building a small team of exceptional pet care professionals to provide dog walking, drop-in care, cat care, and vacation care for our clients throughout the Gallatin Valley. This is part-time work with flexibility, but it is not a casual side gig. We have high standards for the care we provide, the way we communicate with clients, and the way we represent Montana Tails. You have a reliable vehicle and are comfortable driving in Montana winters. You have some weekday availability and are looking for part-time work . You are comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for the work in front of you. You communicate professionally, proactively, and promptly. You genuinely enjoy working with people as well as animals. You are comfortable caring for both dogs and cats and enjoy having some variety in your work. You have professional animal-care experience, which is preferred but not required. You are willing to work some weekends and holidays when needed. You are physically active and comfortable spending time on your feet, walking dogs outdoors and working in Montana weather. You have enough physical ability and confidence to safely handle dogs on leash. You pay attention to details. You know there is a right way and a wrong way to do things and you take pride in doing things well. You show up when you're scheduled to show up. No-call/no-show is unacceptable when animals are depending on us for their care and well-being. You are looking for a team you can be proud to represent, not simply a way to pick up a few easy hours. The Work Our Pet Care Professionals provide a combination of: Dog walks Drop-in dog care Cat care Multi-day vacation care Some assignments are individual visits, while others require consistent availability over multiple days. Compensation & Employment Part-time W-2 employee No guaranteed minimum number of hours Starting at $20 per 30-minute assignment. Compensation varies by service provided. Additional distance compensation varies by assignment This is a flexible position that can work particularly well for someone with another job, a changing schedule, freelance work, school, family responsibilities, or simply a desire for meaningful part-time work. No overnights required. At the same time, reliability matters. When you accept a client assignment, we need to know that you will show up, communicate, and follow through. No call/ no show isn't an option in this industry, lives are on the line.
