Job Summary Elise's pet care is a small, intimate pet care provider with an emphasis on providing the best care possible to pets of all, primarily dogs and cats. Clients located mostly in Asheville, but could be ans far as Hendersonville. We are seeking a passionate and energetic Pet Care Provider to deliver exceptional care and companionship to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and equines. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being, safety, and happiness of pets through attentive care, exercise, and behavioral management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors and indoors, providing pet sitting, overnight in-home care, and specialized animal handling services. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about animals, possesses strong communication skills with clients, and has a background in veterinary or animal care fields. Responsibilities Provide daily pet care including feeding, grooming, administering medication, and ensuring proper hygiene. Meet and greets with client, and potential clients. 1-4 photos of pets daily. With brief captions of what they have been doing. Exercise pets through dog walking, outdoor play, and pet exercise routines tailored to each animal's needs. Handle animals safely using restraint techniques and proper animal handling skills to prevent injury or stress. Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of distress or health issues; communicate observations effectively to clients. Perform overnight in-home pet sitting services, ensuring pets are comfortable and secure during extended periods. Assist with veterinary-related tasks such as basic health assessments or supporting veterinary technicians during procedures. Maintain detailed records of pet care activities, behavioral notes, and client communications to ensure continuity of care. Drop in care 1-4 times a day Dog walks- 15 to 45 minute, done in pets own neighborhood up to $40 per walk Dog "Adventures hikes" requires driving to a near by park or hiking trail, 1-2 hours. Up to $60 per walks Experience Previous experience with dog training, animal handling, doggy daycare or pet sitting is highly preferred. Veterinary experience such as a veterinary technician or assistant background is a strong asset Knowledge of animal behavior to prevent fights. management techniques and animal restraint methods is essential. Excellent client communication skills are necessary to provide updates and build trust with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for outdoor work or transporting supplies. A genuine passion for animals combined with a proactive attitude will help you succeed in delivering top-tier pet care services.
Pay:
$50.00 - $150.00 per day
