Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and self-motivated Groundskeeper & Animal Caretaker to help maintain the beauty and daily operations of our small historic inn and surrounding property. This unique position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, caring for animals, and taking pride in preserving a peaceful and welcoming environment for guests. Responsibilities Provide daily care for onsite animals including feeding, watering, grooming, and monitoring overall health and wellbeing Clean and maintain barns/animal habitats Assist with fencing, pasture upkeep, and general property maintenance Maintain gardens, walking paths, porches, and outdoor guest areas Perform light landscaping and seasonal outdoor tasks such as planting, mulching, pruning, and weeding Help prepare outdoor spaces for guests, events, and special occasions Monitor the property for cleanliness, safety, and appearance Assist with light maintenance projects and basic repairs as needed Support the overall peaceful atmosphere and daily operations of the inn Communicate with our contract heavy maintenance crew as needed, on a case by case basis Qualifications Experience with animal care, farming, gardening, or property maintenance preferred Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor Reliable transportation and strong attendance Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks responsibly Friendly, professional attitude around guests and staff Basic handyman or maintenance skills are a plus About Us Our historic inn offers guests a quiet countryside retreat with beautiful grounds, warm hospitality, and a connection to nature and local history.
