Shift Leader -
Legacy Boarding Kennel Pay :
$15-$18 per hour, with opportunity for higher pay upon promotion to Management Legacy Boarding Kennel is looking for an experienced, dependable, and motivated Shift Leader to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with strong hands-on pet care experience who is ready to take on additional responsibility and has the potential to grow into a management position. About the Position The Shift Leader will help oversee daily kennel operations while providing excellent care for our boarding and daycare dogs, cats and exotics. We are looking for someone who can confidently take charge, make responsible decisions, communicate well with coworkers, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and animal care. This is a hands-on leadership position and requires someone who is comfortable working directly with dogs in a busy kennel environment. Responsibilities
  • Supervise and assist with daily kennel and daycare operations
  • Provide safe, attentive, and compassionate care for boarding and daycare pets
  • Monitor pets for changes in behavior, health, or well-being
  • Feed, medicate, exercise, and care for pets according to individual instructions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary facility
  • Be comfortable answering phones and working in a busy office environment
  • Be able to accurately handle check-ins, check-outs, and payments
  • Ensure company policies and pet-care procedures are followed
  • Communicate professionally with coworkers, management, and clients
  • Help resolve day-to-day issues and make appropriate decisions when management is not present
  • Provide excellent customer service Requirements Pet care experience is required.
We are looking for someone with professional experience working with animals, preferably in a boarding kennel, daycare, veterinary, grooming, or similar professional animal-care environment. Experience with personal/home pet sitting does not qualify as the professional pet-care experience required for this position.
Applicants must also:
  • Be dependable and responsible
  • Be comfortable handling animals of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments
  • Have strong communication and leadership skills
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment
  • Be willing to perform cleaning and other kennel duties
  • Be comfortable working outdoors and caring for pets in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and other challenging weather
