Overview Join our dynamic team as a Kennel Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional care and support for our furry friends! In this energetic role, you will assist with daily animal care routines, ensure a clean and safe environment, and support the overall well-being of our animals. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with dogs and other pets, contributing to their health, happiness, and comfort while supporting our dedicated veterinary and pet care team. If you are passionate about animals and eager to make a positive impact, this is the perfect role for you! No experience necessary, but preferred. Candidates must be able to relate with pets and report any potential problem pet may experience during their stay. Applicants must have no working conflicts and must be able to work all holidays and weekends. Responsibilities Assist with dog handling, including feeding, walking, and supervising playtime to promote healthy activity and socialization Support pet grooming activities such as bathing, brushing, and basic hygiene care to keep animals clean and comfortable Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing supplies regularly Monitoring animals' behavior and ensuring their needs are met during their stay Handle heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with kennel setup and maintenance Requirements Prior experience in dog training, pet grooming, or animal handling is highly desirable Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and safe handling practices is essential Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for kennel maintenance or supply management Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Demonstrated passion for animal care with a positive attitude and attention to detail Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays as needed This role offers an engaging environment where your love for animals can flourish while developing valuable skills in pet care, handling, grooming, and veterinary support.
