Job Overview The Homestead is looking for an experienced, dependable, and caring Professional Dog Groomer to join our growing team in West Fargo, ND. The Homestead is being created as a premier destination for small dogs, bringing grooming, training, boarding, daycare, boutique services, and exceptional personalized care together in one place. As a groomer, you can focus on what you do best—providing beautiful, high-quality grooms and a positive experience for every dog. The Homestead provides the grooming space, equipment, marketing, and appointment scheduling. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail, understands safe and gentle handling, and genuinely loves working with dogs.
Pay:
$22-$30 per hour, based on experience, plus 100% of tips or commission
Location:
mapleton, ND Experience in professional dog grooming is preferred. Experience with small breeds, including Yorkies and Toy Poodles Duties Complete scheduled grooming appointments from start to finish Bathe, condition, dry, brush, de-shed, trim, clip, and style dogs Perform nail trims, ear cleaning, sanitary trims, and other routine grooming services Follow each client's requested haircut and maintain grooming notes for future visits Prepare dogs for grooming and ensure they are comfortable throughout their appointment Inspect dogs before and after each service and report anything unusual to management Clean and disinfect grooming tables, tubs, tools, kennels, and work areas between appointments Properly maintain and care for grooming tools and equipment Keep appointments moving on schedule while never compromising the safety or comfort of the dog Update management when a dog is finished or if an appointment requires additional time Assist with keeping grooming supplies stocked and organized Follow The Homestead's grooming, sanitation, safety, and animal-care procedures Requirements Previous professional dog grooming experience preferred Comfortable completing full-service grooms, including bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, scissoring, nail trimming, and ear cleaning Knowledge of breed-specific cuts and grooming techniques Comfortable working with small breeds, including Yorkies and Toy Poodles Able to safely and compassionately handle dogs with different personalities and temperaments Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality grooms Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to manage appointments efficiently Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary grooming area Strong communication and customer-service skills Ability to recognize basic skin, coat, ear, or other concerns that should be brought to the owner's attention Must genuinely enjoy working with dogs and prioritize their safety and comfort Join us to make a difference in the lives of beloved pets while building your career in a lively, rewarding environment!
