Job Description

Animal Caretaker:
Part Time Job Summary We are currently looking for a candidate who is looking for typically around 20hrs per week and that could increase to 40hrs during our busy holiday seasons. In the past we have found that someone who is only looking for part time works best when they have either another job or a school schedule to work around but every candidate is unique. The Animal Caretaker position typically is responsible for all aspects of dog and cat boarding with daily inclusion of operations, sales, and customer service. Has accountability to achieve service, organization, customer satisfaction, and cleanliness goals for the site in compliance with company procedures. Provides team leadership and ensures staff maintains facility cleanliness and dog health and safety standards. Upholds and grows facility reputation through client relationship building and forging business partnerships. We are a fast-paced business and the candidate should be prepared to spend their day on his/her feet as needed. Multi-tasking and maintaining organization in a busy environment is critical. Responsibilities and Duties Animal Caretakers must oversee the dogs kept on site to ensure that they are cared for properly. Animal Caretakers may be involved with scheduling boarding appointments, cleaning cages and runs, grooming, bathing, feeding, exercising, medicating, and monitoring the behavior of boarded dogs. Candidates must also have excellent public relations skills so that they can interact with owners as they drop off and pick up their pets. As with any animal-related career, there is potential for injury while working with animals that have been brought into unfamiliar surroundings. Kennel workers must use caution when administering medication, feeding, and exercising boarded dogs to minimize the risk of bites or scratches. Qualifications and Skills Professional experience with dogs is recommended but not required.
