Job Summary The Grooming Assistant plays a vital role in providing exceptional care for pets while assisting professional groomers in delivering high-quality grooming services. The Grooming Assistant will help create a welcoming atmosphere for pet owners and ensure the safety and comfort of all pets in our care. Duties Assist groomers with bathing, drying, and brushing pets to prepare them for grooming services. Provide excellent customer service by greeting clients, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area, including washing towels, cleaning equipment, and sanitizing surfaces. Handle animals safely and effectively using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during grooming procedures. Monitor pets for any signs of distress or discomfort during grooming sessions and communicate any concerns to the groomer. Assist with kennel duties, including feeding, walking, and caring for pets waiting for grooming services. Support the team with heavy lifting tasks when necessary, such as moving larger animals or equipment. Skills Strong customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners and provide an exceptional experience. Experience or knowledge in animal restraint techniques to ensure safe handling of various breeds and sizes. Familiarity with pet care practices, including bathing, grooming, and general health monitoring. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals or moving equipment. Previous experience in a kennel or veterinary setting is beneficial but not required. Experience in pet sitting or pet grooming can enhance your candidacy.
