Commision (Industry competitive), 100% of all tips Job Summary Maui Dog Resort is seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Professional Dog Groomer. This full-time position is split between our brand new grooming salon in Flemington at Maui Dog Resort, and our well-maintained Maui Mobile Dog Spa grooming van based in Hopewell. The groomer must be comfortable working independently, driving the van, communicating with pet parents, and providing safe, high-quality grooming services. Schedule and Locations Five days per week, generally Monday-Friday. Three days per week at Maui Dog Resort in Flemington, NJ. Two days per week in the mobile grooming van based in Hopewell, NJ. Typical workload of approximately five to six dogs per day, depending on breed, size, coat condition, temperament, and services requested. Responsibilities Perform bathing, brushing, haircutting, nail trimming, ear cleaning, de-shedding, breed-standard cuts, and customized grooming services. Assess each dog's coat, skin, temperament, and comfort before beginning services. Handle dogs safely, patiently, and compassionately throughout the grooming process. Communicate professionally with pet parents and document grooming notes, preferences, and health observations. Maintain clean and sanitized grooming areas, tools, equipment, and the mobile grooming van. Follow all safety, sanitation, and animal-handling procedures and safely operate the mobile grooming van. Qualifications Minimum of two years of professional dog grooming experience required. Strong knowledge of grooming techniques, breed cuts, coat types, and safe animal handling. Ability to groom dogs of varying sizes, breeds, ages, coat conditions, and temperaments. Valid driver's license and clean driving history Comfortable driving and working inside a mobile grooming van. Reliable transportation and ability to report to both Flemington and Hopewell. Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Dependability is a must.
