In this role, you will assist experienced groomers by preparing dogs for grooming sessions, handling animals with care, and ensuring a safe, clean environment. Duties Safely handle and restrain dogs during bathing, drying, and grooming procedures using proper animal handling techniques Assist groomers by preparing pets through brushing, bathing, drying, and coat styling according to owner specifications Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations, tools, and bathing areas to uphold hygiene standards Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care needs, grooming preferences, and special instructions Perform pet nail trimming and basic coat trimming under supervision while ensuring animal comfort Support with heavy lifting of bathing tubs or equipment as needed to facilitate efficient workflow Monitor pets throughout the grooming process to ensure safety and well-being at all times Experience Previous experience with dog handling or animal care is highly desirable; veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus Knowledge of pet coat styling, pet grooming techniques, and animal restraint methods preferred Familiarity with dog training principles and veterinary experience can enhance your effectiveness in this role Strong communication skills to interact confidently with pet owners and team members Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods Experience working with various animals such as dogs or horses is beneficial but not required; willingness to learn is essential This position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to grow their expertise in animal care and grooming.
