Job Description

We are seeking an
EXPERIENCED
kennel attendant to work a flexible schedule at our grooming/ boarding & daycare/ veterinary facility in Mahwah, NJ. This job is paid with an hourly rate PLUS cash tips and significant
DISCOUNTS
on food and services for your pet (If you have one). Our operating hours are 8am - 6pm, 7 days a week. (Kennel workers get a 2 hr unpaid break 12-2pm each day.) MUST:
Love animals! Be patient Have prior experience working in a dog kennel and/or have experience with dogs of all sizes (Feline experience is a plus) Be punctual & have their own transportation to / from work Please note: As a small team, we stress that reliability is key. We ask that our employees are professional if they ever need to reschedule their shifts in advance. Our Kennel Attendants are expected to be vigilant & alert during their shifts in order to properly monitor our pet guests & report any potential abnormalities to the front office for us to take the necessary steps towards maintaining everyone's overall wellbeing. The team on an average day consists of 1 front office staff member, 1 groomer in the grooming room, 1 manager on-call, and 1-2 kennel workers taking care of the animals at our facility. On busier days, there will most likely be 2 office staff members present in the front office with 2-3 kennel attendants scheduled to take care of the animals. Our ideal candidate would be excited to grow long-term with us. Kennel Attendant responsibilities include, but are not limited to: walking dogs within our fenced-in facility, feeding dogs, reading pet bios & ALL written notes left for that shift, cleaning up after the dogs & their spaces, as well as exercising & entertaining them with the utmost love and care. We also have felines & occasionally other types of pet guests with us, therefore you might be responsible for taking care of their specific needs as well. You will be taught & expected to learn how to dilute certain vet- approved cleaning chemicals safely for use around the facility during cleaning. The safety of our animal guests, pet owners, and team members is very important to us. All new team members are asked to go over and study/learn the protocols we have to ensure a safe & smooth running operation at all times. Our team is responsible for many lives here & this is not to be taken lightly. •Cellphones are expected to be put away during your scheduled work hours & only used for documentation purposes of the pets. Any personal or recreational cellphone use will NOT be tolerated during work hours.
