Part-Time Dog Walker & Pet Care Professional

Wags Walks n Whiskers LLC is a professional, insured and bonded dog walking and pet care company proudly serving North Haledon and nearby towns. We are looking for a dependable, caring, and professional team member to join us part-time. This role is perfect for someone who truly loves animals, values responsibility, enjoys working independently, and takes pride in providing exceptional care. Our clients trust us not only to care for their pets, but to enter their homes, follow detailed instructions, and represent our company with warmth and professionalism. We are not looking for someone who simply wants to "play with dogs." We are looking for someone reliable, communicative, detail-oriented, and committed to high standards of care.

Responsibilities:

Provide professional dog walking and pet care visits in clients' homes Safely handle dogs of various sizes, breeds, ages, and temperaments Follow detailed instructions for each visit, including feeding, fresh water, medications if needed, harnessing/leashing, and home access procedures Provide exercise, enrichment, companionship, and attentive care during each visit Monitor pets for any signs of stress, illness, injury, or behavioral changes and communicate concerns promptly Clean up after pets and leave client homes neat and secure Complete visit reports, photos, and updates through our pet care software Travel efficiently between client homes and arrive within assigned service windows Maintain a friendly, professional, and trustworthy presence with clients and team members at all times

Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age or older Must have reliable transportation Must live within or close to our service area (07508 and approximately a 5-mile radius) Prior pet care experience preferred Must be comfortable working independently and entering clients' homes alone Ability to safely handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments Strong communication skills and comfort using a smartphone app for schedules, visit notes, and photos Dependable, punctual, and highly responsible Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions Physically able to walk multiple dogs per day and be on your feet for extended periods

Schedule:

Part-time hours vary based on client need, but applicants must have availability during our busiest service times. Midday availability is especially important.

This is a part-time W-2 employee position with starting pay of $17.00 per hour . After 90 days, pay increases to $18.00 per hour for team members who successfully complete the introductory period. Hourly compensation includes drive time between client visits . Employees may also receive client tips and mileage reimbursement , when applicable.
