About the Role As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring that all animals, especially boarding pets, receive the highest level of care, attention and comfort. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and loving environment for animals in our care. What You'll Do Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets. Assist with laundry and maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and other facilities to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed. Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies or larger animals safely. Ensure all safety protocols are followed while interacting with animals and maintaining the facility. Additional responsibilities for full-time employees may include preparing surgical packs, cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments, restocking medical supplies in the treatment areas, and performing other duties as required to support the clinic's operations. Knowledge of animal care practices, including basic grooming and feeding routines. Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments with confidence. Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and pet owners. Basic understanding of animal behavior and restraint techniques. Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing for long periods and heavy lifting.

Schedule Needs Part Time Shifts:

4pm - 8pm 5pm-7:30pm Split days sometimes required 11am-1pm 4pm-6pm Shift schedules may vary based on seasonal needs and pet boarding demands and may include weekends and holidays, depending on clinic needs.
