Overview Dog Groomer - Alcove NY We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for the grooming and care of various pets, ensuring they look their best while also promoting their health and well-being. This role requires both technical skills and a compassionate approach to animal care. Responsibilities Provide grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for dogs and other pets. Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any issues that may require veterinary attention. Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use. Communicate with pet owners about their pets' grooming needs and any observed health concerns. Handle animals safely and effectively, using proper techniques for restraint when necessary. Assist in pet sitting or care as needed, ensuring all animals receive proper attention during their stay. Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of pet care and customer service are met Requirements Proven experience in pet grooming or related fields such as veterinary assistance or animal handling is preferred. Strong skills in dog handling, animal restraint, and general pet care practices. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or multiple animals. Knowledge of equine grooming is a plus but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members. A compassionate attitude towards animals with a strong commitment to their well-being.
