Job Description

Overview We're looking for a compassionate and dependable Kennel Assistant to join our team. The right candidate will genuinely love animals and be dedicated to providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for every pet. This is an active, hands-on role focused on daily pet care, facility upkeep, and supporting overall operations to ensure each pet — and their family — has a positive experience with us. Responsibilities Deliver daily care such as feeding, exercise, and light grooming Keep kennels and shared areas consistently clean and sanitary Assist with safe animal handling during grooming appointments or veterinary visits Observe pets' health and behaviour, promptly reporting any concerns Provide friendly, supportive service to pet parents Help reinforce basic training and commands during structured activities Safely lift and move equipment or supplies as needed Support pet-sitting duties, ensuring every pet receives attention and affection Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a welcoming, positive atmosphere Qualifications Prior animal care experience preferred, but not required Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely Familiarity with kennel or veterinary routines is a plus Understanding of dog training techniques is an advantage Patient, compassionate, and committed to animal welfare Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays Comfortable safely and effectively restraining animals when necessary Join our team and help make a meaningful impact on the pets we care for — and the families who love them!
